The ISTD modern syllabus is tried and tested and provides vibrant, energetic and fun grades full of exercises, dances, and amalgamations developing the student.

Miss Natalie is a fully qualified Associate member of the ISTD. These classes work well alongside ballet training to improve core strength and overall dance training.

Like ballet, modern is an incredibly important dance discipline and will further enhance your child’s dance training. It also prepares them for various other more mature dance styles (commercial, street, contemporary) as they learn the basic principles of rhythm, weight transference, traveling steps, high kicks, leaps, turns, balances, and various other dance technique and vocabularly.

The examination structure of the ISTD is designed to cater equally for those who wish to progress to making dance their profession, either as a performer or dance teacher, and for those pursuing dance purely as a leisure activity.

First Position students are entered for ISTD Modern Exams throughout their training, should they wish to take part in this form of grading and progression.
